SUMMARY
Ambassador Viktoras Baublys notes that without the mediation of the Lithuanian and Polish presidents during Ukraine’s 2004 Orange Revolution, bloodshed might not have been avoided. He recalls that it took several presidential visits to Kyiv before all sides agreed to call new extraordinary elections.
In his conversation with Artūras Jonkus, Baublys also points out that widespread corruption was the biggest obstacle for businesses at the time. He further highlights how positively Ukrainians viewed Lithuanians during those dramatic events.
