Study: Only One in Seven Members of the Seimas Communicate with Voters on Facebook

SUMMARY
A recent study found that only about one-seventh of Lithuania’s Members of the Seimas engage with constituents via Facebook. The investigation challenged 126 MPs with a direct message; only 20 responded.
Communication expert Artūras Jonkus notes the low response rate suggests many politicians are not using social media to genuinely communicate with voters, but perhaps more for broadcasting. He also pointed out that high volumes of messages and technical issues may reduce responsiveness, and that more structured social-media strategies could improve meaningful interaction.
