SUMMARY
“For me, it was a new job, a new challenge — or, as we say today, a new exam,” Halina Kobeckaitė said in the program “Non-Diplomatic Conversation,” recalling her work at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Estonia. She is the first woman ambassador in the history of Lithuania’s diplomatic service. Later, she continued her career in Ankara, at Lithuania’s embassy in Turkey.
In her conversation with Artūras Jonkus, the ambassador spoke about Lithuanian–Estonian relations after the restoration of independence, hot political tempers, competition, and the question of where exactly the Land of Mary lies.
