SUMMARY
A joint study by Mediaskopas and Salve Agency examined how negative media coverage influences politicians’ approval ratings. Using data from Mediaskopas and Vilmorus, the analysis explored how scandals and negative press correlate with shifts in public favourability.
The findings reveal that high visibility during crises usually leads to lower approval and higher disapproval ratings — though some politicians suffer significantly more than others.
In conversation with Vilune Kairiene, Data Strategist at Mediaskopas, we discuss what determines resilience in the public eye and why, for some, a crisis barely leaves a mark.
