Following the Incident in Varėna District: A Host of Questions Raised by One Peculiar Detail

The site in Lithuania’s Varėna District, where a suspected drone is believed to have crashed, remains under guard as authorities continue collecting debris from the frozen surface of Lake Lavysas. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the incident—in which the suspected drone entered Lithuanian airspace and crashed in Varėna District—will be investigated as part of an ongoing pre-trial investigation into war crimes committed in Ukraine. Communications expert Artūras Jonkus discussed the incident in Varėna District during the programme.
